I didn't change it so much as add features.

The current stuff will let you print just about anything. The stuff
I did was add some of the new types of cards we created and were
pretty minor. i.e. I made a different card routine for printing
"elementals" but all the flares and powers have not be changed in any
way.

Some day I will put it together but I'm not going to "change"
anything. I will just be adding a few things. So go ahead and use
what is there!

The biggest problem is the stuff in the archive is NEWER than the
stuff I made my modifications on so I will have to look at them very
carefully to make sure it all works out right.

All the work that Jack is remembering was actually putting all his
powers into the RAW format required by CE.conv and implementing his
changes to existing powers.

Do you have access to a unix (linux maybe?) box? The job is much
easier if you do. Originally, I compiled the ce.conv program on a PC
running DOS, ran all the powers thru it and then took the results to
a mac to combine with the postscript headers.

If I had to do it today I would use linux and be able to say something like:

>ce.conv cepowers.raw
>cat font.ps powers.ps powers.out | lpr
>cat font.ps cards.ps flares.one | lpr

Much simpler that the process I went thru when we first printed them.

I took a stab at compiling ce.conv on a mac once, but ran into all
sorts of problems (mostly my ignorance) and gave up on the project.

In the course of writing this message, took a look at the warp and I
think once you figure out how to use the postscript stuff (which has
excellent documentation) the only really missing piece is the powers
which Jack has in html. All you need to do is copy the text into a
new file. I will see about doing this and putting the results on the
page.

Let me know how you are doing and if there is anything I can do to help.

They are most definitely NOT ready for prime time, but I have
uploaded some of my post script additions to
ftp://www.iisworld.com/pub/ce and more importantly, some of my data
files (so you don't have to enter all the edicts if you haven't all
ready.) They are "PS-mkpheaders.tar.gz" and "MKP-data.tar.gz"

Things I still have to do:
    1) get properly formatted versions of all the powers not listed in
another archive.
    2) make a challenge deck (I just have edicts and other strange
cards (excluding flares)). I've put jack on this project.
    3) The new hexes I created for Jack
    4) create postscript versions of new cards on the warp
    5) create all the data files for the "total conversion" thingies
like "cosmic dune". I currently have edicts for some of them but
haven't made the flares since their creation requires the powers to
be properly formatted.

Something you and Jack might work on together is making a "standard"
power list. I still think it's cooler to convert them yourself, but
there is no harm in making sample data files with all the "good"
powers and all their flares for those who don't want to customize.
With that in place plus the stuff I already put up, you will have
enough to print a complete set.

Again, any eon or mayfair powers should be in their own separate
file for our own personal use for legal reasons. Along those lines,
you will find a file in "MKP-data.tar.gz" that has all the standard
edicts. Get it quick since I will be removing it once we go "live".

Hopefully there soon (within a week or so??) will be better
documented versions, at which time I will announce their presence on
the newsgroup.
